Repairing tears in roofing felt.
I have a normal uk type cold roof with interlocking tiles over the roofing felt.
Depending on how bad the felt is i e.
The insulation underneath the tears is dirty with bits of grit but it hasn t rained since i moved in so i can t tell if water gets in.
I rather not have to get all the tiles removed to repair them.
On investigating the attic we ve found a few tears in the inner membrane that runs under the tiles one of these s pretty big a tear 18 vertically downwards from the piece of felt above c24.
Also clean the area around it.
Why would the felt be torn.
Many roofs function quite well without any roofing felt so small tears and damage to roofing felt are not in themselves reasons to spend money on repairing it.
There are a few small rips in the felt about 5cm or 10cm long.
