In december 2013 we showed the new types of corner reliefs that were added with solidworks 2014.

At the time we only explained how these reliefs worked.
If you use the close 2 bend corner tool you can take the two corner types shown above and they will look like the closed corner shown below with the flat pattern to the right.
It is recommended that the diameter of the hole should be equal or more than the thickness of the sheet metal.

You can specify the corner relief shape for a 2 or 3 bend corner.
Enter relief size by bend radius ratio or force bend reliefs.
In this article we are going to explore how the feature is applied to the part to create the appropriate relief.
You can also specify the relief size and whether to apply auto mitering.

Override sheet metal style settings for corner shape and relief.
Select a hard edge bend face flange face or 3d solid entire model.
Do one of the following.
Small hole size in sheet metal requires smaller size punching tool which may leads to break during the operation.
Choose create relief in the sheet metal menu.
